Would you love to travel to Africa in April? Great idea. The temperature in most African countries is well throughout the year. Only North-African winters are cold. You have to take into account the rainy season. Here are some suggestions.
Botswana
Botswana is high on my bucketlist. So it is a major contender for the Easter holidays of 2018. In March and April the Okavangadelta is at its best and the temperature is still pleasant. Since there is always water in this region, there is a lot of wildlife. In Chobe the dry season hasn’t arrived yet, so the landscape is still fairly green.
Gambia
You'll head to Africa, but you are not looking for a safari? Then Gambia is a nice destination. Moreover, it takes only a 6 hours flight (from Belgium or The Netherlands)to reach this beautiful country. It seems to be a birdwatcher's paradise. Here you will find beautiful beaches, good hotels and many older women who are 'hunting'.
Cape Verde
You just want to lay by the pool, nice weather and a cocktail? In that case the Cape Verde Islands are an option. I have been there myself and it was not my cup of tea. There really is nothing to see and the ***** hotel was a disappointment. But decide for yourself and let me know what you thought of it.
Morocco
Moroccan temperatures reach 20 degrees in April. Perfect for a city trip to Marrakech. There are plenty of luxury hotels and the Moroccan cuisine is delicious. I can highly recommend Sofitel Lounge & Spa.
South-Africa
April is a top month for South Africa. The Autumn is coming and the temperatures are mild. Perfect for a trip to the Cape or for a safari in the inland. For South- Africans it’s holiday seaons so it can be crowded and the prices are higher. But as I said earlier, the Rand currently has a favorable exchange rate so the prices are reasonable for us (FYI: Euro/Rand).
Ofcourse there are many other possibilities and as Africa is my favourite continent, I will return over and over again. I love the atmosphere, the smile of the locals, the abundant nature, luxury hotels and mouthwatering food. Are you going to Africa in April? Keep me posted.
